Show Your Age Invitation Postcard
Got another item up on the river at the end of last week..a quirky/fun invitation. I also exceeded 300 sales last week, too. It takes a little while to build up a portfolio, but it's easy to see why it pays off to keep with it :) Loving the envato networks these days.

TypeOh! Tuesday #66
Good morning, y'all, hope your week has started off well! I've been in a pick-me-up / focus-on-the-positive mood lately (more on that in a couple weeks), so when I came across this quote from my most favorite poet, thought it'd be good for a Tuesday. Pretty simple and straightforward, but so good to remember when you think you're just sitting on a straight line, needing something to shake things up.

1899 Newspaper
I have a pretty special treat for your Friday...pictures from an 1899 newspaper! The newspaper is called The Calhoun Times, and it's actually still in business today. Calhoun is the town where I work in wayyy north Georgia..a small hunky dorey town (as I like to call it), very very southern country..like probably how you'd assume all of the south is if you're from the north and have ever watched a movie where you thought they must be exaggerating (sweet home alabama, anyone?). It's actually pretty charming in a lot of ways, and the people are sooo sweet and wonderful. Anyway, one of my coworkers brought this paper in the other week, he picked up something from a garage sale, and it happened to be in the box with whatever he got. I was really swooning over it - all the incredible ads and the handiwork that went into them and then - oh my gosh - some of the things written! I was dyinggg laughing! Basically the entire newspaper is about people's health and remedies for any kind of problem that might be going around - and watch out for those nervous, depressed, and anemic women! Whenever they advertised a problem, they only pointed a finger at a woman having it, advertising their cure to 'fix' her. If you could afford it, you'd be the owner of a year's subscription for just $.50. Insane to think about this paper existing before the turn of the twentieth century, before the titanic sinking, before my parents' parents were even thought of, and before any world wars. I snapped a few pictures of some of my favorite parts..out of the mere 3 spreads long it is. Click on the pictures to get a better look..trust me, you'll want to read some of these!

Envato turns 5
I was wondering when they were going to release their annual birthday bundle, especially after the awesome 70% commission week. I checked in to Graphic River this morning, and there was the banner for it. I scrolled through to see what they were offering - I've bought their bundles in the past..I have to say, this is by FAR the best one yet. Definitely going to purchase. Check out all the goodies by clicking here or the image below (notice those spiffy wordpress + site themes)!

Save the Date Postcard
Got another item up on Graphic River for this week..a sweet and simple Save the Date Postcard. It seems like suddenly all of my friends, or friends of friends are getting engaged or married these days. Guess I've got their graphic needs on the brain :) Also! Today is the last day of a promotion the river is running..70% commission (the highest commission offered) to all authors to celebrate Envato's 5th birthday. So if you're thinking of getting yourself a shiny new file, get it today because more green will go to the file's author than those nice envato peeps :)
p.s. links have been caught up from April to August (from the great google + mess up)..will hopefully get the rest of 2011 caught up this weekend :)

TypeOh! Tuesday #64
Happy Tuesday! I decided to try my hand at a little digital typography this week - ended up taking much longer than I originally thought it would, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out. My favorite number has always been 2, and I realized I haven't really done anything with '2' for a Tuesday. It's about time that got fixed :)

Death Cab For Cutie!
Today is a very exciting day for me! I'm going to see my most FAVORITE band perform, and I've got a standing room orchestra pit ticket! I saw Death Cab at the Fox theater in Atlanta two years ago, and was in the 2nd row up front - that was one of my best concert experiences ever..now I'll be at an outdoor amphitheater, so hopefully it doesn't rain! I've been a big Death Cab fan since my mid/late-teens, so looking back, here are my favorite songs(this was super hard to do, by the way). Top 5 in no particular order!

TypeOh! Tuesday #63
Happy Tuesday! This past week, someone I follow on Twitter recommended an article on the 13 Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes that transformed this guy's life. One of my favorite things ever is a good quote, and Emerson has always been one of my favorites, so of course I clicked the link. Skimming through, out of all of them, I think "Good thoughts are no better than good dreams, unless they are executed" resonated with me most. I feel like there are a whole lot of people that can talk a pretty big game, and I am ALWAYS impressed when I meet someone that talks about the game s/he's living because s/he actually did something about it. Especially now, for me, this is really meaningful (a little more on that next month, hopefully :). Anyway! I wanted to write it out to feel it even better, and this is what I came up with. Have a great day!

Got through 2 whole months! yeahhhh. Anyway, owning any one of these SUPER AWESOME typographic posters that are all available for purchase at this very moment, would make everything a little better..just in case anyone's feeling generous ;) Click on any image to be brought to the item's purchase page.
